Awana Program

Why do hundreds of kids attend AWANA clubs somewhere every week?  AWANA is fun! Of course they're learning and growing while they're having fun.  The AWANA youth clubs are a dynamic program for kindergarten through 6th grade.  AWANA is an exciting and highly motivated program, whose goal is to reach young people with the Gospel of Christ.  They learn that God is real, that He loves them, and that He has expressed that love through Jesus Christ. 

AWANA is made up from the initials "Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed" found in the Bible verse 2 Timothy 2:15.  Competition, team work, trophies, awards, Olympics, adopt-a -club are but a few buzz words that describe what AWANA is about.  We would encourage you to consider registering your youngster(s) in the AWANA program at Grace Baptist Church .

While AWANA has many things to interest boys and girls, such as the special activities (The Grand Prix, Fun Fair, Theme Nights, etc.) the heart of the program is the learning of the Bible.  All children involved in the AWANA program are taught to memorize God's Word each week (Psalm 119:9 - 11).  Each handbook contains an average of 90 Bible verses.  These have been carefully chose in order to establish doctrinal truths. 

You may be wondering what draws children to the AWANA Clubs.  AWANA has a unique Game Time that is not only designed to interest the youth, but is used to challenge them to achieve in their Bible work.  Competition is a vital nutrient in the child's physical and mental growth.  Everyone desires to be a winner.  Every child should have the opportunity to compete and give his best for a simple reward.  Sportsmanship, fellowship, friendship, and loyalties to team and church are encouraged by the AWANA game emphasis. The games provide strong motivation toward achievement in the friendly, competitive spirit among the clubbers and leaders.
